Adobe Lightroom (1-2-1)

lightroom_01

This course is for 1-2-1 tuition in Adobe Lightroom 4.

Adobe Lightroom for me is the best platform for image management and processing around at this current time. Designed by photographers for photographers, it is much more intuitive than Photoshop and has amazing power in both the management and developing sides.

Lightroom can really speed up your workflow too, using ‘develop presets’ that can add a certain look to one or multiple images with a single click. But you don’t have to just use the provided presets, you can download others from the internet or make your own!

This software is great for both professionals and amateurs alike….

For a wedding photographer, being able to adjust one image and then copy and paste those settings to all other images taken under the same lighting conditions which can really make processing a pleasure and not a chore.

The keywording feature makes it easy to find that wedding or that holiday you took 5 years ago. You can even create Smart Collections to automatically add images to virtual folders based on ‘Rules’. So you could set it up that all of your family photos go in to a Smart Collection for ‘Family’ providing you give them the keyword of ‘Family’.

Some of the things this course could cover:

Import – Getting your Raw files in to Lightroom (from your camera and existing files)
Library – Organising your photos by using keywords and collections. Searching and viewing using filtering.
Develop – Including: exposure, white balance, local adjustments, shadow & highlights, mono conversions, sharpening & noise reduction
Export – Outputting for Print/Web/Screen and making Export Presets
Printing – Outputting images to a printer from Lightroom
