Standing quietly in the woods for minutes at a time, just looking. Landscape photography is almost a meditative process for me and these moments of calm whilst making photographs are very rewarding to me.
The Ghyll nature reserve in Crowborough is, in some ways, quite unremarkable – no spectacular vistas to speak of nor rolling fields that we are familiar with in landscape photography but, for me, that is part of it’s charm. It has a subtle beauty that could easily be overlooked and, in some ways, that is the essence of this series and my photography in general.
The Ghyll also has its fair share of issues with litter and general disregard for the environment, this is also documented in the series. It is my intention is to show the landscape as I find it.
